Update on Jamie
As many of you know, Jamie, my wife, is in the hospital. What was thought to be a bad UTI and a possible kidney stone is really a really, really bad UTI that has spread to her kidneys and if untreated will get into her blood. She will be in the hospital at least over night with an IV of an antibiotic more powerful than what she was taking.
Jaida and Tori are at the grandparents house. Please pray for the infection to go away quickly.
Holiday World Update
I just found out from the bus people that we can bring snacks and drinks on the bus. Please use the trash can and not let them fall to the floor of the bus please.
Holiday World Reminder
1. Be at the church at 6:15am on Wednesday. We are leaving at 6:30am SHARP.
2. We will return around 10:30PM.
3. Locker rental is $10 for the day but when you turn your key back in, you will get $7 back which will make for your supper money.
4. The Holiday World map can be found here: http://holidayworld.com/parkmap2008.pdf
5. Ladies, please make note that if you do not have a 1-piece swimsuit, you will need to wear a dark-color T-Shirt over your swimsuit.
6. Please also make note of some of the info on Holiday World’s Info Page (http://holidayworld.com/info.html):
- Dress Code:Shoes, shirts and shorts are required for admission to Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari (even for Guests wishing to use only the water park). Bikini swimsuit tops (or bikini-style tops) must be covered by a shirt when worn in Holiday World. Clothing or body art with rude, vulgar or inflammatory language or graphics is not permitted. “Heelys” and “Rollies”-style shoes not permitted; wheels must be retracted or removed from shoes.
- Dress Code (Splashin’ Safari):To participate at Splashin’ Safari, swimwear or shorts and shirts may be worn and must be modest in design and gender appropriate. No revealing or thong swimsuits allowed. Clothing or body art with rude, vulgar or inflammatory language or graphics is not permitted. Swim shoes, sandals, and aqua socks are allowed (and encouraged if your feet are sensitive) on the water slides. Children in diapers must wear swim diapers. Guests must change into street clothes (shoes, shorts and shirts) before returning to Holiday World. Showers and changing rooms are provided and rental lockers are available.
- First Aid:The parks’ First Aid building is located at the entrance to Splashin’ Safari.
- Lifeguards:Splashin’ Safari is staffed by certified lifeguards.
- Line Jumping: Line jumping is not allowed under any circumstances. Line jumping is defined as cutting in line or leaving line and trying to re-enter for any reason. If a member of your party leaves the ride line for any reason (including getting a soft drink or using the restroom) the rest of the party may not “hold” his or her place. Instead, the person who left the line must go to the end of the line.
- Lockers:All-day lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis in Splashin’ Safari and near Holiday World’s front gate for $3 plus a $7 deposit that is returned to you when you turn in your locker key. The lockers measure approximately 9.5″ x 10.5″ x 16″.
- Lost & Found:If you misplace an item during your visit, check at Lost and Found (Guest Relations at Holiday World and Locker Rental in Splashin’ Safari) before leaving to fill out a lost and found report. We will contact you if your item is found. If you realize you left an item behind after your visit, please click here to file a report. Before your visit, please plan ahead and leave irreplaceable items at home or label them with your contact information. During your visit, observe signage directing you to secure all loose items before riding. Be sure to contact us with Lost & Found information within two weeks of your visit as items are relinquished on a regular basis. We do not save items such as socks and underwear, personal baby items (such as bottles, pacifiers and sippy cups), unmarked film canisters, unmarked disposable cameras, personal toiletry items, and hair accessories. Please note: Holiday World is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Time Zone:Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari operate on Central Time. This is the same time as Evansville, Nashville (Tennessee), St. Louis and Chicago, but one hour “behind” Indianapolis, Louisville, Cincinnati and New York.
- Cameras/Cell Phones on Rides:Cameras of any size or type are only permitted on the following three rides: The Freedom Train, Doggone Trail, and The Lewis & Clark Trail. Absolutely no cameras are allowed on any of the other rides (even when secured in a pocket or fanny pack). For everyone’s safety, cell phone use is not permitted on rides.
7. Please eat something before getting on the bus on Wednesday morning. I’m not sure if we can have snacks on the bus but am going to find out but please eat beforehand just in case.
Should you have other questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
In Christ,
Mark
