Notes for Salvation Army/Nashville Shore Outing

Good Thursday everyone!

I’m excited about our day together helping the Salvation Army and going to Nashville Shores this Saturday.

I want to remind everyone of a couple of things:

1. Swimsuits: Just like camp.  Ladies, if you do not have a 1 piece please wear a T-Shirt.

2. Bring sunscreen.  It is supposed to be fairly sunny and warm.

3. Bring extra money for snacks.  You have already paid for a meal at Nashville Shores.  There will also be lemonade and water available at our pavillion.

4. Be at the church by 9AM.  We will leave around 9:15 as the Salvation Army is not expecting us until 9:30.  We will return to the church around 8PM.

5. Bring a small snack for the ride from the Salvation Army to Nashville Shores.

6. If you have not completed a Medical Release Form and turned it in please make sure you have it completely filled out and notarized prior to coming to the church Saturday morning.

7. If you want to bring a camera, it is up to you to keep up with it.

Should you have further questions please do not hesitate to contact me at 206-0948.

Have a great Thursday and see you all Saturday morning!

CrossPoint Report Night

This Sunday night is the report night for CrossPoint.  All campers will need to meet at the church at 5PM to get ready.  Everyone needs to wear their CrossPoint T-Shirt for the service.  There are already 2 speakers ready to go; we need 2-3 more. If you are willing to be a speaker contact Bro. Mark.

CrossPoint Update from Monday and Tuesday

Greetings from CrossPoint!

We have had a blast so far at camp this year.  The theme is Jesus 360. Our Savior, Jesus, is everything to us and should encapsulate our entire being from how we talk to how we live to how we are as friends.  CrossPoint IntroJesus is Lord of the entire 360 degrees of our life.  He is both God and Man at the same time.  For being the first week of camp this summer, our staff is running it very smoothly.  Many of the staffers from last year are back: Coach Tyler, Seth, and Wes to name a few.  That was a great connecting point for our students when they saw staffers they knew.

Our trip to Campbellsville on Monday was an adventure in and of itself.  We left late because of a couple of things pertaining to the luggage trailor.  Then, as alluded to in one my Facebook status updates, we had finished eating lunch and as we were getting back onto the highway, I took the onramp to go West instead of East.  And of course, we were not in TN anymore so we did not have a turn around every mile down the highway but ended up back on I-65 and went North for 5 miles before we could exit and turn around.

JansonWe arrive at camp get checked in and off we go.  Camp opened up on a hyped up note with lots of energy.  The staff are excited and love students.  That is a great combination for a great week at camp.  So far no one has gotten hurt in their sport times and their track times are going very well.  Church group devotionals have been excellent!  Anissa and Becky have led the last 2 nights and Kay and Theresa are leading the devotional tomorrow night (Wednesday).  We have 4 outstanding ladies working with our girls!  When we get home they deserve our appreciation.  They love our girls and have a desire for them to grow up to be godly women.  They are blessing + theyare very patient with me when we end up on an adventure.  lol

The message tonight was an outstanding gospel presentation.  God moved as I saw, what I estimate to be, 20 or so students make a decision for Christ.  The invitation was powerful as student after student came forward to talk with an adult about a decision God was leading them to.  We did not have any students to go up front but I could tell as I looked over our crew that God was dealing with them.  Continue to pray that He would began a good in them will continue it on.

Until the next post enjoy the pics.

CrossPoint Update Part 2

Good Wednesday again everyone!

Another thought for GAME DAY this year is that we all bring our Tye-Dye T-Shirt from Last Year’s Youth VBS.  I know our 6th graders don’t have one but we will make sure to get them done for you.  :)

Also, if anyone has any facepaint for GAME DAY they could bring that would be great as well.

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact Bro. Mark

CrossPoint Update

Good Wednesday everyone!  I am excited about CrossPoint this year!  It is going to be a blast.

I just want to update everyone on a couple of things.

1. Let’s all wear our Blue AMPED T-Shirts on Monday when we travel to Campbellsville.  If you do not have a blue AMPED T-Shirt please contact me.  They are $10.

2. I received an email from the camp just a few minutes ago with the following information:

Our parties at camp will consist of friendly competitions between guys and girls. The camp will be divided accordingly with the guys being the blue team and the girls being the red team. We wanted to let you know in order for your kids to be able to add to the fun! Have your girls bring something red to wear and have your guys bring something blue to wear for the parties each night.  Another night we will be wearing our tackiest outfit (I was told in a phone call with a camp staffer just minutes ago the theme will be based on ’90′s game shows and so anything ’90′s style will fit in as well).

Finally, remember that Thursday is Game Day. Encourage the kids to wear their favorite sports uniform. None of these are things that are required, but just some options to add to the fun each night at camp.

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact Bro. Mark.
