New Year, New Stuff
Welcome to 2012. Be watching for a new look with updated details and information for D-Now and YEC beginning tomorrow Friday, January 6.
More Than A Logo
As preparations were being made for this year’s AMPED gatherings, the question that came to my mind was, “What is AMPED?” Is AMPED just a name we’ve decided to call our Tuesday night gatherings or even our student ministry or is it more? Does “AMPED” really encompass or convey everything we want to accomplish under God’s leadership? The more I prayed, listened, read, and contemplated, I began to hear God’s voice and He begin to teach me what AMPED truly is meant to be and become. AMPED is more than a logo, more than a name that we have decided to call our Tuesday night gatherings and subsequently our student ministry. AMPED encompasses a lifestyle, a direction, a drive to see the Kingdom of God expand in Clarksville and to the ends of the Earth. When I think of the word amped in general terms, I think of someone energetic either due to excitement or one to many Monster drinks. When someone is “amped” about something, there is a drive, an excitement, a dedication to see their energies pay off. Through this time of prayer, a drive began within me. The drive to see God’s Kingdom expand, the drive to see our students and their families grow in their relationship with Christ, the drive to see believers connect in meaningful relationships, the drive to ministry multiply as a result of hearts being excited for the things of God. I heard a statement last night, “Evangelism isn’t evangelism until the evangelized begins to evangelize”. This statement encompasses growth (discipleship), a desire to honor God (worship), a heart for those needing to hear the message of hope, forgiveness, and completeness found only in Christ (evangelism), encouragement that comes from true friendships (fellowship), and the desire to meet the needs of people in our community (ministry).
Tonight begins a 5 part series on what AMPED Student Ministries is, our mission, our vision, how we are a part of FBC St. Bethlehem, and the part each person plays in seeing the Gospel of Christ spread.

For those running Win XP
Ok so I know I’m a total tech geek but I did learn something just now that may be old to some but I found a neat little webpage about optimzing WinXP. I was in search of how to edit the quick launch icons as I had way to many that I never used.
Here a link to a page that helps you optimize this and a few more things:

Thought for the day
Just had to share this:
A small boy swallowed some coins and was taken to a hospital. When his grandmother telephoned to ask how he was, a nurse said, “No change yet.”
Great Funny
THOUGHTS ON EXERCISE
~ I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven’t lost a pound. Apparently, you have to show up.
~ If God meant us to touch our toes, he would have put them further up our body.
~ I have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.
~ If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.
~ The only reason I would take up jogging is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.
~ I don’t jog. It makes the ice jump right out of my glass.
~ I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.
~ I have to exercise early in the morning before my brain figures out what I’m doing.

Cool new sleek browser
I came across a new Internet browser that Google has developed. It is called Google Chrome and I must say that I like it! It is sleek, an easy download, quicker than IE (for me at least) in browsing and load up and easy to use.

YouthGlue Issues
I am aware of some issues with YouthGlue and the inability to log in as I have been having the same issue since yesterday. I contacted YouthGlue earlier today about the issue and as soon as I know something I will pass it along to everyone else.
Cool new video
Check out the Random stuff page for a cool Newsboys concert video.
Update on the Ellisons
Jamie just received a phone call from Vandy Children’s Tuesday afternoon that Lyla had tested positive for Whooping Cough. I was mistaken about Lyla’s report about Whopping Cough.
Her test did not come back on Friday like I had originally thought. It came back today and Lyla does have Whopping Cough. Jamie is showing signs and has been told to get on antibiotics immediately. The doctor said that Jaida and Tori should be fine since they have already had their vaccine for it.
Please pray for Jamie and Lyla and I apologize for giving out the wrong info about the test.
Prayer for Lyla Ellison
Please pray for Lyla, Bro. Mark’s youngest daughter – 8 weeks old.
Lyla was a running at 100.8 fever early this morning. After talking with the on call nurse, it was stated that Lyla needed to be seen. So at 3AM Jamie and Lyla left for Vandy Children’s. Lyla is going to stay for 48 hours. The doctors don’t think it’s RSV but want to keep her to make sure.
Updates will be posted.
Prayer for Birthrong Family
Please pray for Mr. Jeff Birthrong and Chucky. Mr. Jeff’s mother died Monday morning and the funeral is today.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Take time this week to give thanks to our Great God for all He has given us. From life to family to friends to our Savior, we don’t have anything God doesn’t want us to have.
Tell your family thank you for being your family.
